A coached strength-and-conditioning gym running structured twelve-week training blocks. We designed and built its one-page site: the programme, the session types, membership pricing and a free-week sign-up, all on a single page that loads fast on a phone.
Letts Perform Physiotherapy, Rayleigh
A specialist musculoskeletal and sport physiotherapy practice run by an HCPC-registered tendon specialist, working out of Lift Lab in Rayleigh and from two London locations. A one-page build setting out the specialism, the credentials and where each clinic runs.
Both are live sites you can go and look at, and both were delivered from Devon on calls and shared previews. We are deliberately not attaching ranking, traffic or revenue figures to either — naming what we built is a claim we can stand behind, and inventing what it produced is not.
Essex in Numbers: Who Your Customers Can Choose Instead
Official counts for Essex, Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock added together.
From the ONS UK Business Counts 2026 (published through Nomis), covering VAT and/or PAYE registered enterprises. Very small unregistered sole traders are not in the count. ONS rounds each figure to the nearest five. The Essex county council area leaves out Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock, so we added the three rows together ourselves.
- 82,695 registered enterprises, of which 74,515 (90.1%) employ fewer than ten people.
- Construction is the largest group, at about 17,985 enterprises (21.7%).
- Wholesale, retail and motor trades come next at about 11,255 (13.6%), with professional, scientific and technical firms close behind at about 11,190 (13.5%).
- Administrative and support services follow at about 7,245 (8.8%), then information and communication at about 4,580 (5.5%).
Our view: construction is the largest group by a clear margin, so an Essex builder or contractor is rarely the only one a customer can find. That is the kind of search we would look at first, followed by the retail and professional firms. A page for each service and each part of the county you cover usually matters more than one page for all of Essex.
What a Search for "SEO Essex" Showed on 4 October 2026
One desktop look at Google UK, written down as it was.
Google showed an AI Overview and a local map pack of three businesses, with seoessex.io, freelanceseoessex.co.uk and seoagencyinessex.co.uk among the domains listed. There were no paid ads. Google gave a result count of 101,000.
We read nine organic results. Six were agency service or location pages, including fuzeagency.co.uk, ignyte-digital.co.uk and heavyweightdigital.co.uk. Three were list or directory pages: nextdoor.co.uk, beststartup.co.uk and ukmarketingagencies.co.uk. The first result was a copywriting services page at seoessexco.co.uk. Brambla was not in the top ten, and this is one capture rather than a ranking check, so results will differ by location and by day.

For comparison: when we checked the three top-ranking pages for SEO in Essex in August 2026, two of them (SEO Essex and Freelance SEO Essex) published no figure. The third, Outrank, listed Local Starter from £300 plus VAT a month, Regional Growth from £500 plus VAT a month and National Priority from £750 plus VAT a month. Those were August results, and the page-one list was different when we looked again on 4 October. We are not claiming to be better than any of them; we are saying you can see what we charge before you speak to us.
Three Economies, One County
The estuary, the commuter middle and the north of the county behave nothing like each other.
We work the SS, CM, CO and RM postcodes across Essex: Rayleigh, Southend-on-Sea, Basildon and Thurrock along the estuary; Chelmsford and Brentwood through the commuter middle; Colchester, Braintree and Harlow to the north and west. A Rayleigh gym, a Chelmsford solicitor and a Colchester independent retailer are chasing three different sets of results, so we would rather build a page for each place that genuinely sends you enquiries than one that lists the whole county.

The map results belong to Essex addresses
In August 2026 the Essex search showed a three-business local pack held by firms with verified Essex addresses, and on 4 October 2026 it showed a three-business pack again. Those slots are decided by where a business actually is, which is how they should work, and we do not compete for them. Your own address still decides your map results. Ours does not. The organic results underneath are a different contest, decided by the pages themselves, and that is the one we are in.
