What Does Bespoke Web Design Mean?
Every agency says bespoke. Often it means a premium theme with the colours changed. This is what we mean.
Bespoke website design means a site designed and built from scratch around your business. The structure comes from how your customers actually decide, the design from your brand, and the code from what the site genuinely needs to do — nothing inherited from a theme marketplace.
At Brambla that means a custom Next.js build. There is no theme carrying stylesheets and scripts you will never use, no page-builder plugin to patch, and no shared layout that quietly makes you look like three competitors. Stores run on Shopify for the same reason: the checkout, payments and stock are handled by the platform, so nothing breaks on a Saturday morning.

How much do web design agencies charge in the UK?
At Brambla, we publish our prices, which most agencies do not. Of the agencies ranking on page one for "bespoke web design" in August 2026, only one publishes a range — £15,000 to £50,000, aimed at businesses turning over £1m or more — and one studio cites £5,000 plus VAT as the cost of a theme-based build; the rest quote after a call. Our bespoke range is £2,500 to £8,000+, fixed before we start.
Can ChatGPT design a website?
At Brambla, we use AI tools where they help — drafting copy, testing layouts, checking code — but no, a chatbot cannot deliver a working business website on its own. It cannot run your hosting, connect your CRM or payment provider, meet accessibility and performance standards, or be accountable when something breaks at 9am on a Monday. What a bespoke build buys is the judgement about what your customers need to see, and someone who answers the phone afterwards.
Is a bespoke website worth it?
At Brambla, we will tell you honestly when it is not. It is worth it when a template is holding you back: you need custom booking logic, a members area, complex filtering or integrations; you compete in a market where design signals trust; or you have a brand that a theme cannot express. If a well-built LIVE or 7 Day site would serve you just as well, we will recommend that instead.
Do you build bespoke ecommerce websites?
At Brambla, yes — on Shopify. A standard Shopify store suits most retailers; larger catalogues, unusual checkouts or a fully custom front end get a headless build with Next.js or Hydrogen. Custom ecommerce runs £3,500 to £8,000+ depending on products, integrations and design. We do not build WooCommerce stores.
How long does a bespoke website take?
At Brambla, most Custom Websites take four to eight weeks from discovery to launch. Larger builds with complex integrations can run beyond eight weeks. We agree the timeline in writing before we start, and you see designs and working pages as we go rather than at the end.
Will I get a fixed quote?
At Brambla, yes. After the discovery session you receive a written, fixed quote based on your requirements — pages, CMS, integrations, content and design complexity. No hourly surprises and no hidden fees. Changes of scope are quoted separately before any work happens.
Can I migrate my existing content?
At Brambla, yes. We migrate text, images and structure from your current site as part of the project, map the old URLs to the new ones with 301 redirects so your existing search rankings carry across, and tidy up anything that no longer earns its place.
Can I integrate third-party tools?
At Brambla, yes — CRMs, booking systems, email platforms, payment gateways, accounting and stock systems, and anything with an API. During discovery we map every tool you use and plan the integrations, so nothing is bolted on afterwards.
Can I add new features later?
At Brambla, yes. A bespoke build is structured to grow: new pages, sections, integrations and functionality can be added at any time, quoted on scope. Many clients start with the core site and add a blog, a members area or a booking flow once the business is ready for it.
Do I need WebsiteCare?
At Brambla, it is your choice: we can run the site on a WebsiteCare plan, or you can host it yourself. WebsiteCare (Essential £65, Growth £125 or Premium £245 a month) covers hosting, SSL, security, backups, updates and support minutes. A small site can run on Essential; a site of 50 or more pages that needs constant attention or special hosting usually starts at Growth. If you would rather host it yourself, tell us at the start and we build it so it can be handed over without our in-house build tools. WebsiteCare is hosting and maintenance only; ongoing SEO and marketing is a separate service, SEO Care, from £95 a month.
