Is Wix really free?
You can build a Wix site for free, but a free site uses a Wix address (username.wixsite.com/sitename). Wix says that with a Premium plan you can connect your own domain and remove Wix branding. What you pay depends on the plan and billing period you choose, so check what each plan includes before you commit.
Can I move my Wix site to a professional platform later?
Wix sites cannot be moved to another host. Wix says a Wix site "needs to be hosted and operated on Wix's servers". Your content belongs to you, but the site itself stays on Wix, so a switch effectively means starting again. Can I update my professional website myself?

What if I already have a Wix site?

Do professional web designers use Wix?
It depends on the designer. Wix runs a separate product, Wix Studio, which it describes as "The Web Platform Built for Agencies and Enterprises". We do not build client sites on Wix. We build in Next.js, so we control the code, the speed work and the technical SEO ourselves.
Is Wix bad for SEO?
Not on its own. Wix says every Wix site is built on server-side rendering, and you can add your own structured data (JSON-LD) to static pages, though not to dynamic pages. Wix Customer Care will not help with structured data changes. What you give up is control of the build underneath.
