7-Day Website: What You Get and What It Costs
What does the 7 Day Website actually include, and is it right for your business? A full breakdown of each pricing tier, the day-by-day timeline, what is not included, and who should go custom instead.
Key Takeaways
- The 7 Day Website is a fixed-scope, fixed-timeline web design service: Simple £1,200 / Standard £1,500 / Complex £1,800
- You get a professionally designed, mobile-responsive website built and launched within five working days of receiving your content
- It is not the same as a template builder — every site is custom-designed and built to your brand
- It is the right choice for most small businesses that need a quality website without a long agency engagement
- According to Clutch's SME survey, 64% of small businesses do not have a website — for many of them, the barrier is time and cost uncertainty, not budget itself
- It is not suitable if you need bespoke functionality, a complex e-commerce build, or deep custom integrations
A fixed-price, fixed-timeline website sounds almost too good. Most people who ask us about it have the same first question: "What's the catch?"
There is not one. But there are clear boundaries — and knowing exactly what sits inside and outside those boundaries is what makes the service work. This post walks through every detail so you can decide whether it is right for your business.
What Is the 7 Day Website?
The 7 Day Website is our flagship fast-turnaround web design service. You pay a fixed price, provide your content, and we design and launch your site within five working days.
It was created to solve a specific problem: most small businesses know they need a better website, but they cannot spend three months in an agency engagement and do not want an open-ended quote. The 7 Day Website removes both of those blockers.
It is not a DIY builder or a template you fill in yourself. We design it, we build it, we launch it. You get a professional result without the drawn-out process.
Full details of what is included are on the 7 Day Website service page. Here I want to go beyond the headline and break down exactly how the pricing tiers work, what the five days actually look like, and who this service is — and is not — right for.
The Three Pricing Tiers
Simple — £1,200
The Simple tier suits businesses that need a clean, professional online presence without complex content or functionality.
What you get:
- Up to 5 pages (e.g. Home, About, Services, Testimonials, Contact)
- Contact form wired to your inbox
- Mobile-responsive design built to your brand colours and fonts
- Basic on-page SEO (page titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, image alt text)
- SSL certificate and hosting setup assistance
- One round of revisions
This is the right tier if: you are a sole trader or small service business, your website's job is to establish credibility and generate enquiries, and your content is straightforward.
Standard — £1,500
The Standard tier adds scope for more content and slightly more complex layouts.
What you get — everything in Simple, plus:
- Up to 8 pages
- A gallery or portfolio section
- Integration with a booking tool or calendar (Calendly, Acuity, etc.)
- Additional design complexity — custom section layouts, more varied page structures
- Two rounds of revisions
This is the right tier if: you have a richer content set, you want to show off past work or a photo gallery, or you need a simple booking flow built in.
Complex — £1,800
The Complex tier is the top of the fast-turnaround range. It handles more pages, more integrations, and more nuanced design requirements.
What you get — everything in Standard, plus:
- Up to 12 pages
- Blog setup (CMS, not just static posts)
- Third-party integrations (email marketing signup, CRM form, social feeds)
- More complex navigation (mega-menu or multi-level dropdown)
- Three rounds of revisions
This is the right tier if: you are a growing business with a broad content set, you want to launch with a blog, or you need several tools integrated at the point of launch.
The Day-by-Day Timeline
Five working days from content receipt to launch. Here is what actually happens (you can also see a full overview on our process page):
Step 1: Discovery and Design Direction We review your content, brand assets, and any reference sites you have shared. We establish the page structure and visual direction. If there is a brand guide, we work to it. If not, we work from your logo and any existing colour/font choices.
Step 2: Homepage Design The homepage is the most important page and the one that sets the visual tone for everything else. We design it in full and share it for sign-off before moving on.
Step 3: Inner Pages With the homepage approved, we apply the same design system across the remaining pages. Inner pages are faster to produce because the design language is established.
Step 4: Build and Integration Pages go live in staging. Forms are connected, integrations are tested, SEO basics are applied, and the site is checked across devices and browsers.
Step 5: Review, Revisions, and Launch You review the staging site, we apply your revision notes, and the site goes live on your domain.
The five-day clock starts when we receive your content — not when you sign up. More on that below.
What Is Not Included
This is the part of the conversation that matters most. Being clear about scope protects both of us.
Content creation. We do not write your copy or source your photography. You provide text, images, and any other media. If your content is not ready, the timeline does not start.
Custom functionality. The 7 Day Website does not include custom web application features, membership areas, complex e-commerce (more than a handful of products), payment gateway builds, or database-driven dynamic content. If you need those, you are looking at a custom website.
Logo or brand design. We work to an existing brand identity. If you need a logo or brand guidelines created first, that is a separate engagement — see our branding service.
Ongoing maintenance and hosting. The build cost covers the design and launch. What happens after that is up to you — but see the next section.
After Launch: SiteCare
Most clients on the 7 Day Website add a SiteCare plan once they see what it covers. SiteCare is our website hosting, security, and maintenance service — it handles:
- Managed hosting infrastructure
- SSL certificate management
- Automated daily backups with restore capability
- CMS, plugin, and dependency updates
- Allocated support minutes for content changes and technical queries
Plans start at £65/month (Essential — no support minutes), £125/month (Growth — 30 minutes/month), and £245/month (Premium — 90 minutes/month). Unused minutes do not roll over.
It is entirely optional. Some clients manage their own hosting. But for most small businesses, having someone else handle the ongoing maintenance is worth far more than the monthly cost in time saved and problems avoided.
Full details on the SiteCare page.
Who the 7 Day Website Is Right For
You are a good fit if:
- You are a small business, sole trader, or startup that needs a professional web presence
- You have content ready (or close to ready) — text, images, some sense of what you want
- You want a quality result without a months-long agency process
- Your functionality needs are straightforward — pages, forms, maybe a gallery or booking link
Specific examples from our own client base: tradespeople wanting to look more professional than their current Yell listing, service businesses (accountants, therapists, consultants) who need credibility online, local retailers wanting a presence beyond social media, and startups needing a launch site fast.
Who Should Go Custom Instead
Be honest with yourself about what you actually need. A custom website is the right call if:
- You are selling products online (more than a handful, with inventory, variants, or complex checkout)
- You need a membership area, client portal, or login functionality
- You need deep integration with a CRM, ERP, or bespoke internal system
- Your site needs to scale significantly — multiple locations, a large team, complex navigation
- You want something genuinely unique in terms of motion, interaction, or visual complexity
Custom website projects start from £2,500 and the scope, timeline, and process are proportionally more involved. You can compare both services — and every other option — on our pricing page.
The Real Cost Question
People sometimes frame this as "£1,200 is a lot for a website." The more useful frame is: what is a website that does not generate enquiries costing you?
If your current site — or the absence of one — means you are losing even one customer a month that a professional site would have converted, the payback on a £1,200 investment is fast. Sweor research shows that 57% of users will not recommend a business with a poorly designed mobile website. In a market where word-of-mouth and Google search both drive discovery, that matters.
The 7 Day Website is not the cheapest option — there are AI builders and template tools that cost less. But it is the most cost-efficient way to get a genuinely professional, custom-designed site built and live quickly. We covered the AI builder comparison in detail in our post on AI vs human web design.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I am not happy with the design?
Each tier includes a specified number of revision rounds (one, two, or three depending on tier). Within those rounds, we will iterate until you are happy. We have never launched a site a client was not satisfied with. The discovery process on Day 1 is specifically designed to make sure we understand your expectations before we start designing, which prevents most disagreements before they happen.
Can I upgrade from Simple to Standard or Complex partway through?
Yes, within reason. If your scope changes before Day 2, we can adjust the tier and invoice accordingly. Changes after the design phase has started may affect the timeline. We will always be transparent about what is and is not feasible within the five-day window. According to Statista's project management research, scope changes mid-project are the leading cause of deadline overruns — the 7 Day Website's fixed scope is specifically designed to prevent that.
Do I own the website once it is launched?
Yes, completely. You own the design, the code, and all the content. If you decide to move to a different host or developer after launch, you take everything with you. We do not lock clients into proprietary platforms.
